NEWS STORY IDEA:
I want to make a news story about the guy at the roundabout who holds the sign that says "bread not bombs" and "one world without borders."
INTERVIEW REVIEW:
I really enjoyed making this film. I first got the idea for doing this story when driving by and watching Mr. Sanders protesting. I told Nate about the idea and we both really liked it and wanted to interview him. At this point, we had no idea who he was. We had to call him twice and then we finally were able to meet. Before we met with him we went out to the roundabout to shot some b-roll and get a feel for taking the camera out of the classroom. I think that it was a really good idea that we did this because we got more experience with the camera in our group. We each thought of certain questions and I ended up interviewing him. I had a hard time getting him to repeat questions, but I felt that I did a good showing him that I was engaged. I was actually genuinely engaged. I really enjoyed listening to speak. He was a really interesting person and I think that he gave a really good interview. I think that it was really cool how he was not protesting but more promising peace. I hope our interview inspires more people to take a look at his signs and his messages. One thing I wish that we did differently was that we learned to do a better sound before we went out. I think that if we had better sound it might have kept the sound of the cars out. However, I think that the sound we had was decent. I also wish that we would have brought a light to make the shot look better. After we came back to the classroom, Nate and I edited it together and I thought that we made a really good team. We both had separate opinions about what to keep and what to edit out and I think that because of that, we were able to produce a really good film. We helped each other add b-roll and color correct. I hope to work more with Nate in the future because I think we could do cool things in the future.
